Turkey Starts Building 3 ADA-Class Corvettes for Malaysia
Turkey's defense company STM has launched construction of three ADA-class corvettes for the Royal Malaysian Navy, reports zamin.uz.

A keel-laying ceremony in Istanbul marked the start of the project, which is part of the LMS Batch-2 program between Turkey and Malaysia.

Malaysia is the first Asia-Pacific customer to order Turkish-built ADA corvettes. These ships will enhance its defense capabilities against maritime threats, aerial attacks, electronic warfare, and asymmetric risks.

STM is responsible for design, construction, system integration, and logistics. Each vessel is 99.5 meters long, can reach speeds of over 48 km/h, and sail up to 7,400 km. They carry 111 crew members and include a helipad and refueling system.

Armament includes:
  • Leonardo 76 mm main gun (Italy),
  • Aselsan Smash 30 mm gun (Turkey),
  • Roketsan Atmaca missiles,
  • Haegung SAMs (South Korea),
  • Combat management systems from Havelsan, plus modern radars and EW tech.

All three ships are expected to be delivered by late 2027.
