According to Al Arabiya channel, citing its sources, the body of high-ranking Hamas leader Muhammad Sinwar was found in a tunnel located in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Reports indicate that Muhammad Sinwar died several days ago as a result of an Israeli airstrike. The bodies of 10 of his aides were also found in the tunnel. It is reported that the bodies were removed from the grounds of the European Hospital in Khan Younis.
As a reminder, on May 13, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a large-scale airstrike on the European Hospital area in Khan Younis. The Israeli side stated that a key Hamas command center was located beneath the hospital.
However, the IDF has not officially confirmed Sinwar’s death. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told the parliamentary foreign affairs and defense committee that, although definitive confirmation is not yet available, “all available information suggests he was eliminated.”
Muhammad Sinwar was the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader in Gaza who was killed during an Israeli military operation in October 2024. After the death of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in August 2023, Muhammad was appointed to that position.

Sinwar joined Hamas at a young age and in recent years became one of its leading figures. Israeli intelligence services had previously made several unsuccessful attempts to assassinate him.
