Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, in his speech in parliament, sent a clear and explicit signal to the world community: Iran does not intend to develop nuclear weapons, and all suspicions in this regard are unfounded. The president stressed that the country has the right to use atomic energy for peaceful purposes, and no one can deny this right.
According to Pezeshkian, Iran's official policy is based on the renunciation of nuclear weapons. On this matter, there have been several strict statements from the Supreme Leader of the country as well. "Anyone who expresses an opinion contrary to this direction has no place in Iran's political system," he said.
According to the president, the country's scientific potential should be used only for peaceful and positive purposes. He also emphasized: "Using atomic energy for peaceful purposes is not only our right but also a legitimate demand enshrined in international treaties. Scientific research and practical work in this area must serve the development of Iranian society."
In parallel, Iran's Foreign Ministry also stated that the country remains committed to its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In the official statement of the Ministry, it is emphasized that there should be absolutely no place for nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
Despite such peaceful statements, on June 13, Israel carried out airstrikes on a number of nuclear and defense sites in Iran. As a result of the attack, strategic facilities in Tehran and other cities were destroyed. In response to this aggression, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones at Israeli territory.
Importantly, mutual attacks have continued for the fourth day. According to Iranian officials, generals of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, members of the Armed Forces General Staff, and specialists in the nuclear field were killed in the attacks.
This escalation poses a serious threat to stability and security in the region. International organizations and leading countries are calling on both sides to maintain peace. However, the situation is becoming increasingly dangerous.
The contradiction between Iran's adherence to a peaceful nuclear policy and Israel's military strikes has become a test not only for the Middle East, but for the security of the entire world. Time will tell whether this conflict will move toward peace or open the door to new clashes. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
