Food Shortages in Gaza
Although food deliveries to Gaza City have increased, this is still not enough to stop widespread hunger, says the head of the World Food Programme (WFP). Currently, about 100 aid trucks arrive daily, far fewer than the 600 trucks that came during the ceasefire.

Many people still do not get enough to eat. In some areas, food prices have dropped, but most cannot afford them. Children, pregnant, and breastfeeding women are especially at risk.

According to the report, about a quarter of the population in Gaza City and surrounding areas is facing the risk of famine. Hunger could also spread to other areas.

The WFP head visited the region and saw the severe conditions, emphasizing the need to expand aid delivery. Safe routes and quick approvals for aid are important.

Leaders have called for an increase in aid and ensuring people receive food consistently. Current aid is still not enough to stop widespread hunger.
