As a result of another Israeli airstrike on the city of Gaza, the press secretary of the Palestinian military unit of the Hamas movement, Abu Obeida, died. This was announced to the public by Israeli Defense Minister Israel Kas.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also reported on Obeida's death, but it was noted that there was no official confirmation at the time.
Abu Obeida has been familiar with Hamas videos for many years. He always performed in military uniform, covering his face with a mask. The fighter made his last statement on August 29th when the Israel Defense Forces launched a new attack on Gaza, describing the city as a "heavy combat zone." This was reported by AFP and AP agencies.
As a reminder, on October 7, 2023, Hamas, recognized as a terrorist organization by the European Union and the United States, launched a major attack on Israel. That day, the fighters launched more than a thousand missiles and entered Israeli territory. As a result, about 1200 people were killed and more than 250 were taken hostage.
Some of the hostages were subsequently exchanged or released, while others perished. These events further exacerbated the situation in the Middle East and led to the escalation of bloody clashes.
