The sister of Argentina’s president, Karina Milei, who holds the position of Secretary General of the Presidential Administration, is accused of participating in corruption schemes related to the purchase of medicines. This was reported by CNN.
According to the channel, the local streaming service Carnaval published audio recordings of conversations between Karina Milei and high-ranking officials. These recordings do not contain direct evidence of her involvement in corruption schemes, but they may be linked to inflated prices for medicines intended for Argentina’s National Agency for People with Disabilities. Part of the conversations was recorded inside the presidential palace.
Presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni has already announced that Javier Milei’s administration filed a complaint with the Federal Court. They claim that the recordings were made illegally, secretly, and were aimed at undermining stability in the country during the peak of the election campaign.
An Argentine federal judge has issued a ruling banning the publication of audio recordings related to Milei’s sister.
