A special messenger has been developed for civil servants in France.

A special messenger has been developed for civil servants in France.

Since September 1 of this year, all ministries and government agencies of the French government have been forced to regularly use the secure state rapid messaging service Tchap.

"This decision is an imperative requirement for security and the preservation of state sovereignty," wrote Le Figaro.

The name of the Tchap service was given as a tribute to the famous French engineer Claude Chappé, who invented one of the first optical communication methods in the 18th century. This step is also a tribute to the history of technology.

Starting this Monday, all civil servants and government agencies in France, including ministry employees, are required to use only the secure Tchap instant messaging platform for professional correspondence and official communication.

Thus, mass-oriented and social messengers such as WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram were removed from the list of official services. This decision was made to ensure the security and confidentiality of the state communications system.

- Basic instant messaging applications, designed for the general public, are becoming increasingly important in our daily communication. However, these digital tools are not free from security vulnerabilities, Prime Minister François Baireau noted in an official summer secular.

The text requires all civil servants, including ministry employees, to install and regularly use the Tchap application, developed by the Interdepartmental Digital Directorate (DINUM), on their devices. This step will serve to ensure the conduct of state relations through modern and safe technologies.
