Following US President Donald Trump's "final warning," the Palestinian Hamas movement announced its readiness to quickly enter the negotiating table to stop the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip and release "all the prisoners."
An official statement released on Sunday evening, September 7th, stated that Hamas had previously received "a series of ideas aimed at a ceasefire from the American side" through intermediaries. These ideas prompted discussions about the possibility of reaching an agreement to end the war.
It was reported that Hamas is making three main demands from Israel in exchange for the release of Israelis captured on October 7, 2023: a ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of troops from Gaza, and a clear statement on the formation of an independent Palestinian committee to manage the sector.
On the same morning, US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social that the terms of the agreement proposed by Israel had been accepted, and strongly emphasized that Hamas should also agree to them.
"I warned Hamas in advance about the consequences of the refusal. This is my last warning, there will be no other opportunity," Trump wrote in his statement.
Thus, a new stage may begin in the situation. Because the relationship between both sides and Trump's firm stance is likely to determine the fate of the clash in Gaza.
