Diva Alla Pugacheva spoke in detail for the first time in a long interview about her departure from Russia, the reasons for emigration, and her family life. She added that at the time of her departure, she and her family had only $30,000 and were forced to leave for Israel.
"We left without any safety net"
In an interview with the Tell Gordeeva project, Pugacheva said that she decided to emigrate in the fall of 2022 after her husband Maxim Galkin was included in the list of foreign agents. According to her, her children began to face bullying at school, and after this incident she had to pack her bags.
"Of course, you are the children of spies, your father is a foreign agent, and all these are enemies," Pugacheva recalls.
Then she gathered the children and said: "We packed our suitcases, told my father that we were leaving. We had $ 30,000, which we could bring. And we left for Israel." According to Pugacheva, they went "nowhere," noting that the family did not have a pre-prepared "safety cushion."
"We did not have any villas, extra funds, or prepared reserves," the singer emphasized.
"I left because the Motherland betrayed me"
Pugacheva stressed that she did not feel like a traitor, saying: "I said that I would leave my beloved homeland only in one case - if it betrayed me. And it betrayed me. In what sense am I a traitor?" She added that she had not lost touch with her millions of loyal fans: "Conscience is more valuable than any fame."
“Declare me a foreign agent too”
The singer recalled that in September 2022 she had appealed to the Ministry of Justice and demanded to include herself in the list of foreign agents. “I didn’t understand why the opinion of the intelligentsia was being suppressed in such a situation. To be honest, it was a very painful thing for me that this was happening, you know? That’s why I also asked to be registered,” Pugacheva said.
Secret visits to Russia
After emigration, the singer was seen in Moscow several times. According to her, these visits were to solve domestic problems or work on new songs. The last time she was seen in 2023 was at the funeral of Valentin Yudashkin.
“My life with Maxim is true happiness”
A large part of the interview was devoted to family life. She described her marriage to Maxim Galkin as “the true happiness in my life.” “I can’t talk about it.
