On the night of Friday, September 12th, nine Ukrainian drones approaching the Russian capital, Moscow, were destroyed. City Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported this. According to him, a group of drones was intercepted several times at night, and emergency services worked in the areas where the fragments fell to the ground. The mayor stated that there is currently no information about the destruction or casualties.
At the same time, Ukrainian OSINT channels reported that an oil refinery in the Smolensk region was attacked. However, this information has not yet been confirmed by official sources.
As a result of the attacks, temporary restrictions were also imposed at Kaluga Airport, located near Moscow. According to Artem Korenyako, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the airport has temporarily suspended the reception of flights and the execution of passenger flights.
The incident is noted as part of another series of airstrikes and counteroffensives between Ukraine and Russia. Experts emphasize that drone attacks may continue to exacerbate tensions between the two sides for some time.
