At an important meeting in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with the head of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. According to the president, Turkey will speak on behalf of Palestine at the UN General Assembly, which will begin on September 23.
As Erdoğan emphasized, Turkey consistently keeps the Palestinian issue on the agenda from all platforms of the international arena. According to him, the main goal and priority of the country is the immediate establishment of peace in the Gaza Strip and the elimination of the humanitarian tragedy that has arisen in the region.
The Turkish leader also emphasized that Ankara will never back down in providing political and diplomatic assistance to the Palestinian people. In his opinion, such steps on the global stage are important not only for Palestine, but also for ensuring stability and peace throughout the region.
