Ogunmodede, who worked as a janitor in Britain, was fired for working excessive hours during his employment. This was reported by the Daily Mail.
It was revealed that Ogunmodede repeatedly violated the minimum 11-hour rest requirement between shifts from 2008 to 2024. It was established that he worked two different jobs on various days, combining shifts, and on this basis his employment contract was terminated.
He stated that he felt good and happy during his days off. However, the employer did not allow him to work overtime in this job he loved and fired him. Ogunmodede filed a lawsuit claiming unfair dismissal and illegal deductions from his salary. However, the court rejected his claims.
The court ruled that Ogunmodede's actions were unlawful, could pose a threat to his health and safety, and could harm the interests of society. The court also found him guilty of not providing the employer with complete information about his second job.
This situation once again demonstrates the importance of regulating labor rights and healthy working hours.
