Voluntary military service will be established in France

French President Emmanuel Macron announced the gradual introduction of a voluntary military service system in the country. The new system will be launched in the summer of 2026.

Volunteers serve for 10 months and are paid. The President emphasized that those who participate in this service will not be sent to the zone of hostilities in Ukraine.

At the initial stage, 2,000-3,000 citizens will be involved. In the future, it is planned to gradually increase this figure to 50 thousand people per year.
