27 country leaders unite in Paris for Ukraine defense plan

Countries supporting Ukraine met in Paris to discuss clearly defining security guarantees for Ukraine in the event of a possible peace agreement with Russia. The main goal of the meeting is to form concrete commitments to protect Kyiv from future threats.
The meeting includes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, as well as more than 27 leaders from Europe and other countries. They are developing a common position of Ukraine, Europe, and the U.S., which they plan to present to Russia.
Diplomats note that security guarantees and military pledges so far have been insufficiently specific. The Paris meeting discusses forming multinational forces to protect Ukraine in case of a ceasefire, as well as providing support if new attacks occur.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Ukraine is ready for peace but will continue to defend itself if necessary. He said the diplomatic path remains a priority, but clear and consistent support from international partners is essential in this process.
