Are there any Russian ships around Greenland? Denmark refused

The head of the Danish Arctic Command, Major General Søren Andersen, denied US President Donald Trump's statements about the presence of Russian and Chinese ships near Greenland.

In a comment to Reuters news agency, General Andersen said:

"We are not observing either Russian or Chinese ships around Greenland. Chinese and Russian ships are navigating the Arctic Ocean, but not in areas near Greenland."

He added that Denmark invited the US to participate in military exercises planned to be held in the island region this year. However, Washington has not yet officially responded to this proposal.

As is known, Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized the strategic importance of Greenland for US national security. Following these statements, European countries decided to intensify military intervention on the island. In particular, France sent 15 troops to Grenada, Germany - 13, and Finland - two.
