Law enforcement agencies have stopped the activities of a criminal group involved in extortion and violence. Investigators believe the group was organized by a Namangan city resident who had previously been convicted several times. This was reported by podrobno.uz. reports .
According to the Interior Ministry’s press service, the 27-year-old suspect, Bahriddin Nasriddinov (nickname — Eshon), had previously been convicted of crimes related to fraud, hooliganism, and document forgery. Investigators say he formed an organized group that used force to “resolve” money disputes and collect debts.
In one case, the group’s members allegedly beat an acquaintance and inflicted knife wounds. A criminal case has been opened under the article on hooliganism. The article предусматривает punishment of up to five years in prison.
The Interior Ministry urged citizens who may have been affected by the group’s actions to call 102 or contact the nearest police department.
Earlier, it was reported that in Andijan, officers of the Interior Ministry and the State Security Service halted a group that posed as law enforcement officials and, while threatening citizens with weapons and sharp objects, extorted cryptocurrency and property.
