German Chancellor Friedrich Mers issued an alarming statement regarding the situation around Iran. According to him, the scenario similar to the crisis observed in Syria should not be repeated in this country.
Mers emphasized that the US-Israel conflict with Iran could have a serious impact on the entire region. In particular, Germany is seriously concerned about the possibility of this situation triggering a new wave of refugees.
The Chancellor emphasized the importance of maintaining Iran's independence. He stated that in negotiations with Washington and the Israeli government, he has been calling for the swift creation of opportunities to stabilize Iran.
According to Friedrich Mers, the formation of a legitimate government in Iran through democratic means and its continuation as a state is of decisive importance. These words indicate that Europe does not want the situation in Iran to deteriorate further.
