Trump criticized NATO and called the allies cowards

Donald Trump once again caused a stir in the international arena with his harsh statement. The US President, who harshly criticized NATO allies, openly called them "cowards." These thoughts were published by him on the social network Truth Social.
Trump emphasized that allied countries are dissatisfied with the rising oil prices resulting from the war, but at the same time, they are refusing to take concrete actions to stabilize the situation. In particular, he criticized the lack of activity of partners in ensuring the safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
"This is one of the least dangerous and simple military steps. But they can't even bring themselves to do that," Trump said sharply and didn't hesitate to call them "cowards" again.
At the same time, he expressed a controversial opinion about NATO's future, noting that without the US, this alliance is "just a tiger on paper." According to him, Washington will retain such a position, and this could affect future relations.
Trump has requested military assistance from allies to ensure security in the strategically important area between the Arabian Peninsula and Iran - the Strait of Hormuz. However, Germany and several other countries rejected this call.
Following this decision, Trump accused NATO of making a "very big and foolish mistake." In particular, he assessed Germany's position as "surprising" and reacted sharply. At the same time, he emphasized that the US does not need the help of allies at all - which once again demonstrated its tendency to act alone in foreign policy.
Meanwhile, representatives of the German Ministry of Defense commented on the situation and stated that the country continues consultations with allies on security issues in the Middle East. However, Berlin has openly stated that it will not send additional military contingents, in addition to the forces currently participating within the existing missions - OIR, UNIFIL, ASPIDES, and NMI.
According to reports, since February 28 - the beginning of the US and Israel's actions against Iran - the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied gas transportation occurs, has been effectively closed. This has had a serious impact on the global energy market.
In addition, the situation is exacerbated by the fact that Iran is striking some oil facilities and tankers in the Persian Gulf region. As a result, global oil and gas prices have risen sharply, which is also increasing pressure within the US.
Especially for Donald Trump, this issue is also relevant from a domestic political point of view - the rise in fuel prices directly affects the mood of voters. How this situation develops in the future will be crucial not only for politicians but also for the entire global economy.
