US President Donald Trump does not want the conflict with Iran to last long and plans to end it in the coming weeks. According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump informed his advisors that the conflict "has entered its final stage."
It was reported that the White House has set a specific deadline of 4-6 weeks and is working within this framework. The goal is even to end the war by a meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in mid-May.
According to Trump, the Iranian leadership is interested in negotiations, but cannot say so openly due to internal pressure and risk. He even emphasized that the Iranian elite "is afraid of both their own people and the US."
The authors of the publication reveal several important aspects of this statement, including: the US does not want the war to drag on - this is due to economic pressure, oil prices, and domestic political ratings.
