Russia demanded that Ukraine withdraw its troops from Donetsk

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the new conditions imposed by Russia. As part of the negotiations, Russia is demanding that Ukraine withdraw its troops from the Donetsk region within two months, and announced that if this deadline is not met, further demands and conditions may change.
As Zelensky noted, “Russia told the American side: the deadline has changed - in two months our state will occupy the eastern Donbass region. Thus, Ukraine has been given two months to withdraw its troops from there. At this time, the war will end. If Ukraine does not leave, Russia will take control of Donbass and then set new conditions.”
The Ukrainian President added that Russia will not be able to fulfill these demands and that Moscow “understands” this. The Donbass region is being discussed as a key issue in the Donbass trilateral talks. Representatives of both sides have previously reached agreements on almost all other issues several times.
At the same time, official negotiations have been temporarily suspended due to the conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran. The US President's special representatives Steve Whittock and Jared Kushner are currently mainly engaged in resolving the conflict in the Middle East.
However, the Americans are maintaining bilateral contacts with the Ukrainians and Russians. This leaves room for the possibility of resuming negotiations and resolving the problems through diplomatic channels.
How the situation in the Donbass region will develop in the next two months will depend on the decisions of Kiev and Moscow to withdraw or retain their troops, and the future scenarios of the war will also be determined at that time.
