Agricultural land plots may be allocated for Uzbek investors in the Irkutsk region of Russia for the purpose of raising cattle. Sputnik reported on this.

According to the information, this news was announced during a briefing dedicated to interregional cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Irkutsk region, which was attended by Viktor Sishkovskiy, the Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Irkutsk region.

The initiative to allocate agricultural land for cattle breeding in the Irkutsk region is being discussed. According to the plan, products manufactured in this area could subsequently be supplied to both the Irkutsk region and Russian markets, as well as to Uzbekistan. Sishkovskiy noted that Uzbek investors are ready to participate in these projects.

Viktor Sishkovskiy stated that a special "road map" has been approved within the framework of the agreement signed with the Andijan region. The document defines specific tasks and deadlines for their implementation. Priority areas include the establishment of a republican Trade House in the Irkutsk region, as well as the construction of a large fruit and vegetable logistics center.

The Irkutsk region mainly exports wood products, aluminum, IT solutions, and other types of goods to Uzbekistan, while fruits and vegetables, machinery, containers, and packaging materials are imported from Uzbekistan.

Additionally, in mid-April, it was reported that the Uzbek side plans to take 4,000 hectares of cropland from Belarus on a long-term lease to implement a cattle breeding project. Such an economic agreement was reached during the visit of the Qashqadaryo region delegation to Belarus.
