Trump sharply rejects Iran's proposal without reading it

US President Donald Trump announced that he did not read the proposals submitted by Iran to resolve the conflict to the end. In a conversation with journalists on May 11, he openly stated that he did not want to waste time on the documents sent by Tehran.
“I didn’t even read them to the end. I decided not to waste my time reading them,” Trump said.
At the same time, the US leader assessed Iran's proposals with very harsh language. He called these documents a “pile of garbage” and stated that they were unacceptable to Washington.
According to Trump, the current ceasefire regime is in a very unstable state. Comparing the situation to that of a critically ill patient, he emphasized that the probability of its survival is very low.
“The doctor comes in and tells you that the chance of a loved one surviving is about 1 percent,” the US President described the situation.
Nevertheless, Trump also said he has the “best plan in the world” regarding Iran. However, he did not disclose the details of this plan. This further increases the uncertainty surrounding negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
A day earlier, Trump had already rejected Iran's response to the American proposal to end the war, calling it “completely unacceptable.” According to reports, Iran delivered its proposals to the US side through Pakistani intermediaries.
In its demands, Tehran put forward issues of paying reparations, establishing full control over the Strait of Hormuz, lifting sanctions, and returning frozen assets. It appears these demands were sharply rejected by Washington.
The main disagreements between the parties revolve around several major issues. The most important of these are Iran's nuclear program, the uranium enrichment process, stockpiles of highly enriched materials, the dismantling of nuclear facilities, the safety of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, and the format of a general truce.
The US is demanding the rapid opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the assurance of safe vessel movement, and firm guarantees that Iran will not create nuclear weapons. Iran, meanwhile, wants to resolve these issues through separate negotiations, ease sanctions, and have its interests taken into account.
In the current situation, the positions of the two sides seem far apart. Trump's harsh statements could further complicate the diplomatic process, as returning to the negotiating table requires not just documents, but political will.
In short, Iran sent a proposal, and Trump rejected it without even reading it. Disagreements over Hormuz, the nuclear program, and sanctions remain. This shows that the situation in the region is still very fragile and ready to explode.
