General Motors has confirmed that the 2026 Chevrolet Captiva EV will be launched across all South American countries, SpeedMe.ru reported. Following its presentation, the vehicle has already begun arriving at Brazilian ports and will also be available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
Fabio Rua, GM South America's Vice President, noted that Captiva EV is a strategic product for Chevrolet’s global electric vehicle segment and will enter the regional market by the end of the year.
This is Chevrolet’s second EV rollout across South America after the announcement of the Spark EUV 2026. The Captiva EV will be sold alongside the seven-seat gasoline-powered Captiva XL.
Its global debut is expected in the coming months in Brazil or another South American country. According to insiders, the Captiva EV is a modified version of the Wuling Starlight S adapted to Chevrolet's design. The launch will mark an important milestone in SGMW’s expansion into the global EV market. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
