Trade-in and Trade-up Systems Legalized for Car Sales in Uzbekistan

The Government of Uzbekistan has enacted a decision to overhaul its car market regulations. As part of this, the trade-in and trade-up systems have been legally established, allowing customers to trade in their old cars and pay the difference to purchase a new or higher-tier model. According to the Kursiv media website.

The process will now be handled through distributors and dealers, with official contracts in place.

Mandatory technical identification of vehicles has been introduced. Aggregate numbers and other parameters will be checked against the YHXX database. In addition, a 10-day temporary permit has been introduced before car registration.

Furthermore, all paperwork will be processed through electronic systems with the option for notarial certification, making the process faster, more transparent, and reducing the risk of fraud.
