Hyundai Motor Group plans to implement Boston Dynamics Atlas humanoid robots on a large scale in its automotive manufacturing plants. According to The Korea Times, the company aims to deploy up to 25,000 humanoid robots across Hyundai and Kia factories. This was announced at an investor meeting organized by JPMorgan Chase, as reported by reported by.

The company intends to reach a production capacity of up to 30,000 Atlas robots annually by 2028. In the initial phase, the robots are expected to be tested primarily at plants in the USA, although specific timelines and locations remain confidential.

Hyundai also aims to localize the production of key robot components in the USA, particularly actuators that function as joints and "muscles." The company plans to produce over 300,000 such actuators per year.

This step is considered a new phase in industrial automation. Unlike traditional industrial manipulators, Atlas robots can move freely within the factory floor, operate various equipment, and perform complex tasks designed for humans.
