Lotus presents the new Emira 420 Sport model

The British brand Lotus has unveiled a new, lightweight 420 Sport version of its popular Emira model. The company calls this car a "true expression" of the brand's DNA, as it has been engineered to be significantly more agile and responsive than the standard model. Equipped with a four-cylinder engine supplied by Mercedes-AMG, this sports car produces 414 horsepower (420 PS), which is 14 hp more than the previous SE version. This is reported by Autocar.co.uk reports.

The new Lotus Emira 420 Sport reaches 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 299 km/h. However, the manufacturers emphasize that the car's main advantage is its dynamics. Thanks to the Lightweight Handling Pack included as standard, the vehicle's weight has been reduced by 25 kg to 1421 kg. At the same time, aerodynamic downforce has been increased by the same amount.

There are also significant changes to the car's exterior: a new front splitter, enlarged air intakes, and a rear lip spoiler. These modifications have improved airflow to the radiators by 15 percent and brake cooling by 10 percent. Lotus engineers lowered the suspension by 5 mm and added special settings to ensure stability on the track.

Inside, drivers are offered carbon fiber paddle shifters and updated touch controls. Also, for the first time in the Emira family, a removable roof panel has been introduced. It is worth noting that this model may be one of the last pure internal combustion engine sports cars from Lotus, as there are plans to transition to new hybrid V6 engines developed by Horse Powertrain in the future.
