In Russia, during the summer season, the most frequently illegally watched film was recorded as “Lilo & Stitch.” This was reported by the “Film Distributors’ Bulletin.”
According to calculations, the “shadow box office” of this release is estimated at 700–800 million rubles. The film is based on the 2002 animated movie of the same name, showing the adventures of a girl named Lilo, who lives in Hawaii, and her unusual friend Stitch.
In the new version, Stitch was again voiced by Chris Sanders. The role of Lilo was played by Maya Kealoxa, and her older sister Nani was portrayed by Sidney Elizabeth Agudong. The film also starred Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, and Hannah Waddingham. The director of the picture was Dean Fleischer Camp.
The live-action remake collected more than 1 billion dollars in worldwide distribution and became the first Hollywood film in 2025 to reach this result.
In Russia’s summer pirate ranking, the second place went to “How to Train Your Dragon” (420–480 million rubles), the third position went to “Minecraft in Cinema” (300–350 million rubles). In fourth place was the F1 sports drama starring Brad Pitt (280–320 million rubles), and in fifth place was “Jurassic World: Resurrection” (180–220 million rubles).
