
The Competition Committee has granted permission to International Beverages Tashkent, the owner of the Pepsi trademark, to acquire the Baraka Market supermarket chain. The committee's press service reported this.
"The Competition Committee has considered the application of International Beverages Tashkent LLC to acquire 100 percent of the shares of Urban Retail LLC.
International Beverages Tashkent LLC is an organization engaged in the production of soft drinks under the Pepsi, 7UP, Mirinda, Mountain Dew, Adrenaline Rush and Lipton trademarks;
"Urban Retail" LLC is an organization engaged in the sale of non-alcoholic soft drinks, food and non-food products through a supermarket chain under the Baraka market trademark.
According to the results of the analysis conducted by a special commission of the Committee, the conclusion was reached that this transaction is a corporate restructuring and does not directly affect the competitive environment, and a decision was made to satisfy the application," the report says.
According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, Urban Retail LLC was registered in Tashkent in July 2020. The current authorized capital is 5 billion soums. 99 percent of the company's shares belong to Holten Enterprise Holdings Ltd, registered in the UAE, and 1 percent to Holten Group Corp. Nikolai Viktorovich Razumovsky is listed as its head.
For your information, Holten Enterprise Holdings Ltd and Holten Group Corp are also founders of International Beverages Tashkent with a 99.9 percent and 0.1 percent stake, respectively.
