As of 2025, the cheapest currency in the world—not only compared to the Uzbek so‘m, but also to all other currencies—is the Lebanese pound (LBP).
As of June 25 of this year, 1 Lebanese pound is worth 0.14 so‘m.
Why is this currency the cheapest?
Since 2019, Lebanon has been experiencing a deep financial crisis. The near-collapse of the banking system, political instability, and corruption have led to the national currency — the Lebanese pound — losing over 90% of its value.
The gap between official and black market exchange rates has further eroded public trust. The Central Bank of Lebanon has been unable to stabilize the currency market for several years.
Additionally, the following currencies are also cheaper than the so‘m:
▪️Lao Kip (LAK) — 1 Kip = 0.58 so‘m.
▪️Syrian Pound (SYP) — 1 Pound = 0.96 so‘m. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
