Uzbekistan recorded a record indicator of gold exports in January-August 2025. According to the State Statistics Committee, the total volume of exports amounted to $22.98 billion. Of this, 8.42 billion dollars, or 36.7 percent, came from gold.
This indicator is the highest in the country's history. In previous years, even annual results did not reach such a level. For example, in the same period of 2024, gold worth $4.98 billion was exported, and in 2023 - $8.1 billion.
Proceeds from the sale of gold also strengthened Uzbekistan's gold and foreign currency reserves. As of September 1, 2025, the country's reserves reached $50.1 billion. Of this, more than 40 billion dollars is gold.
Currently, Uzbekistan has 334.5 tons (11.8 million ounces) of gold in its reserves. This indicator once again showed the main strategic importance of gold in the republic's economy.
