Significant decline in natural gas production recorded in Uzbekistan

In the first quarter of 2026, a decline in the production volume of oil, natural gas, and coal was observed in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

It is noted that in January–March, the volume of natural gas production amounted to 9.6 billion cubic meters. This figure is 15 percent lower compared to the same period last year.

Oil production reached 157.3 thousand tons, recording a 2.2 percent decline. Gas condensate production also decreased by 18.3 percent, amounting to 242.3 thousand tons. It is stated that the decline remains high compared to 2024.

At the same time, positive growth was observed in certain areas. Motor gasoline production increased by 2.9 percent, reaching 313.2 thousand tons. Fuel product production grew by 54.3 percent, amounting to 280.9 thousand tons.

Electricity production volume increased by 4.7 percent, reaching 22.93 billion kWh. Portland cement production also recorded growth, reaching 4.1 million tons.
