New Tariffs for Electricity and Gas: Who Pays How Much?

An important decision has been made to reform the energy system and ensure rational use of resources in our country. According to the new document approved by the government, starting from June 1, 2026, updated payment rates for electricity and natural gas will come into effect.
The new system maintains social protection principles, with prices varying based on consumption volume.
Electricity: Differentiated system continues
For legal entities, i.e., group I, II, and IV consumers, the price per kWh of electricity 1,100 UZS has been set. However, for the population (group III), differentiated tariffs remain in place for convenience.
For residents living in houses equipped with electric stoves:
up to 200 kWh — 325 UZS;
from 201 to 500 kWh — 450 UZS;
from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 550 UZS.
For other household consumers (ordinary apartments):
up to 200 kWh — 650 UZS;
from 201 to 500 kWh — 900 UZS;
from 501 to 1,000 kWh — 1,100 UZS.
Additionally, increased coefficients remain in effect for those consuming excessive amounts of energy.
Natural Gas: Heating season is taken into account
For general consumers, the price per cubic meter of gas 2,000 UZS is set, while for gas stations (CNG), this figure is 2,750 UZS. For the population, preferential limits have been introduced depending on the season:
During the heating season: up to 500 cubic meters — 1,100 UZS (per 1 cubic meter);
In other seasons: up to 100 cubic meters — 1,100 UZS.
Quality and efficiency — the main goal
With the government decree, not only are prices set, but new tasks have been assigned to energy organizations. Priority will now be given to reducing network waste, improving service quality, and implementing energy-saving technologies. This, in turn, will ensure stable energy supply in our homes.
Do you think rising resource prices will teach people to save more energy?
