Typhoon-Resistant Turbines on China’s Coast

New wind turbines started operating off the coast of Guangdong. They provide electricity to homes and factories and can withstand strong typhoons.

The turbines are tall and can work under strong wind and waves. OceanX and Goldwind protect them with special materials and control systems.

During a typhoon, turbines automatically shut down or adjust the angle and direction of their blades. This keeps them safe and continues electricity generation.

Typhoons Yagi and Ragasa tested the Guangdong turbines. They withstood the wind and generated electricity. Experts say this experience can be used in other regions.
