In the Kumkurgan district of Surkhandarya region, Deputy Hokim N. Jumaeva instructed women activists to involve people in the cotton harvest, which was widely discussed on social networks. This situation was officially confirmed by the State Labor Inspectorate, and a fine was imposed on him on the basis of part 1 of Article 51 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
The head of the Information and Library Center in Bukhara, N. Aminova, was also held accountable for committing a similar offense.
In order to prevent forced and child labor during the cotton harvest season, and to ensure compliance with labor legislation, the State Labor Inspectorate conducts constant monitoring.
To date, this season:
- 74 violations of labor legislation were identified,
- Measures of responsibility were taken against 8 officials,
- More than 1,400 citizens were assisted in finding employment on a contractual basis.
We remind you that forced labor in any form is prohibited in Uzbekistan, and persons who allow such cases will be held accountable before the law.
