The Great Silk Road is no longer a map - it is becoming a real route. The British tour operator Golden Eagle Luxury Trains has announced a new luxury railway travel program called "The Great Silk Road by Train." The Travel and Tour World publication also wrote about the project.
The new trip is designed for 22 days and will pass through five countries: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The total distance is indicated as 3,862 km: the trip starts from Beijing and ends in Tashkent.
The "fishka" of the program is viewing the most famous historical and cultural points of the Silk Road in a luxury format. For example, sites such as the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army in Xi'an, and the Mogao Caves are mentioned. The final "impact" of the journey is especially close to us: cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva fully give us the spirit of the journey.
Not only the excursion: additional impressions are also included in the plan. In particular, such options as camel riding in the Gobi Desert, as well as flying to Almaty by plane, have been noted. In short, this journey is like a scenario of "moving from episode to episode," not "taking a train."
The price issue is also openly stated: the cost of travel for one person in a double accommodation starts from $50,700. This package includes accommodation, meals, excursions, transfers, and insurance. The first flight is scheduled for September 21 - October 12, 2026.
Most interestingly, this format could open a new "standard" for Central Asian tourism. If the flow of tourists increases, then in the coming years, services, guides, hotels, and cultural programs will naturally increase in Tashkent and other cities. That is, the Silk Road will not remain a legend - it will become a source of income, an image, and a new opportunity.
