Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Asilbek Khudoyorov met with the head of the British company International Hospitals Group (IHG) Chester King and discussed issues of raising mental health services to a new level based on international requirements.
According to the "Dunyo" agency, a project to establish an outpatient and inpatient treatment facility that meets international standards in the field of mental health was presented at the dialogue center. That is, we are talking about a comprehensive system that includes not only admission and consultation, but also constant observation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
The implementation of the concept of a modern "smart hospital" was also discussed at the meeting. At the same time, such areas as digital management systems, automation of work processes, institution management, as well as advanced training of personnel and training of specialists were not overlooked.
Chester King noted that he visited institutions of psychiatric and narcological services in the capital and Tashkent region and positively assessed the work being carried out in the field of mental health in Uzbekistan. He stated that the IHG is ready to cooperate not only with government agencies, but also with non-governmental medical organizations.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the sustainable development of mental health services, raising the quality and effectiveness of medical care to the level of international standards, and providing modern and effective services to the population. The issue of strengthening the system by attracting British specialists also remained on the agenda.
For information, the International Hospitals Group (IHG) is one of the international medical infrastructure companies in the UK. The company has experience in the design and construction of outpatient and inpatient clinics that meet international standards in the field of mental health. It was noted that the IGC is currently operating in the countries of the Middle East.
In short, this meeting is a big signal so that mental health services "don't remain the same": now the goal is a modern system, strong management, and practice that truly helps people.
