The State Security Service Department for Navoi region, together with employees of internal affairs bodies, conducted an operational event in the Kanimekh district to combat the illegal trafficking of firearms and ammunition.
During the event, an "Onyx" vehicle belonging to a resident of the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region, born in 1989, was inspected. During the inspection, 500 5.6 mm caliber firearms were found in the car's trunk and seized in the prescribed manner.
The operational event did not end there. Law enforcement officers continued the investigation and seized another 600 5.6 mm caliber cartridges, which were illegally stored in this person's residence, as material evidence. It is noted that a total of 1,100 cartridges were seized.
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against this person under Article 248, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, and a preventive measure of "imprisonment" has been applied to him. An investigation is currently underway.
As a reminder: citizens who voluntarily surrender firearms, their main parts, and ammunition to law enforcement agencies without a relevant license or permit may be exempt from liability in accordance with the law.
