Official caught taking bribe in Termez

An official from the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Livestock Development in Termiz, Surxondaryo region, was found to have committed fraud by abusing his official powers.
According to investigation data, he provided a citizen with false information that the department would soon move to another building, promising to help purchase the vacant building and its associated land through an auction via acquaintances. In reality, this promise was merely a move for personal gain.
It became known that he demanded 3,000 US dollars from the citizen in exchange for this "service." Subsequently, a rapid operation was organized.
As a result of a joint operation by the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and internal affairs agencies, the official was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe. He was apprehended at the moment of accepting 2,000 US dollars and 12 million soums.
A criminal case has currently been initiated regarding this incident, and investigative activities are ongoing. Relevant authorities are conducting a thorough study of all circumstances.
Citizens are urged not to remain indifferent when encountering such situations and to immediately contact authorized bodies. Specifically, reports can be made via the SSS short number 1520, with guaranteed confidentiality for applicants.
This incident serves as another reminder that accountability is inevitable if official positions are abused.
