The head coach of the Uzbek national team, Timur Kapadze, is currently in Antalya. A number of Super League clubs are holding training camps for the new season here. We talked a little with Kapadze, who came to watch the match with Andijan the other day.
- What is your goal for your trip to Antalya?
- You know, our clubs are currently preparing for the new season in Antalya. I came to see them. I am learning about who is in what situation by observing the preparation process and talking to the coaches during the games. I am also watching with my own eyes and making selections. I understand that the teams and players are not in peak form right now. Almost every day, two or three of our teams play. I go to every match as much as possible, watch them, find out what they are like, and ask the coaches questions that interest me.
- You recently returned from a training camp in Qatar as the coach of our national team. How did you start working in our first team?
- As you can see, everything happened quickly. Time was tight. My first task was to analyze. We reviewed the players called to the training camp according to the established requirements. As you know, our main matches are in March. This training camp was useful for me. Because we will have time to go in and correct something, and if we need to add something, we will add it. In general, it was useful for me. Everything is in order. I am not a new person for our national team. I saw the training camps, I watched them.
- You kept Katanec's assistant coaches in your staff. Was this your decision?
- It was my decision. They have been working with the national team for a long time. Even before the Qatar training camp, they drew up training programs. During the training, I talk and ask questions about what and how. Because I thought about the main matches in March and we will hardly have time to change anything. The coaches of the national team also worked hard. I also knew their wishes. I talked to the players, I saw them myself. I came to this decision because almost everything was in order.
- Abdukadir Khusanov's transfer to Manchester City is also beneficial for our national team and what can you say as his coach?
- I was very happy, it's great. Everyone was happy. I consider it a tribute to Abdukadir that one of the best clubs in the world invited an Uzbek player and that Guardiola himself invited him. I think this is just the beginning. Khusanov has enough potential. They didn't take him for granted. I think it's a big plus for our football. I hear from agents or acquaintances that England is paying attention to other talented young players from Uzbekistan. This is also great for advertising. Abdukadir paved the way for future young players. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
