Bayer Leverkusen are looking for a replacement for Xabi Alonso: the names on the shortlist have been revealed

After reports that Real Madrid could offer Xabi Alonso as head coach for the new season, Bayer Leverkusen management is preparing for possible changes. According to insider Nicolo Schira, Leverkusen is considering several candidates to replace Xabi Alonso, including Francesc Fabregas, Imanol Alguacil and Erik ten Hag.

The 37-year-old Fabregas is currently managing Italian Serie A side Como. He took over in the summer of 2024, and his club is currently 11th in Serie A after 34 games. This result is considered excellent for the newly promoted team.
