Our boxers shook Asia with fights in Bangkok

In Bangkok, Thailand — a vibrant city with a strong sports spirit — the Asian Championship among youth and boxers under 22 is being held from July 30 to August 12. This tournament has undoubtedly attracted attention not only from Asia but also globally.

Today was one of the most important and exciting days. Eighteen of our boxers under 22 entered the ring to fight for a place in the finals. Notably, our U-22 national team reached this stage without any losses — a great success on its own.

  • In the first semifinal at -50 kg, Behruz Kholdorov had a tough fight against the host fighter Thitivat Phlongaura. Unfortunately, losing 2:3, he finished the tournament with a bronze medal.

  • Then, Samandar Olimov (55 kg) entered the ring and stunned South Korea’s Jinseong Hong in the opening seconds of the bout with confident and skillful moves.

  • Shokhrukh Abdumalikov defeated India’s Harsh 5:0 in the 60 kg bout. His performance was highly rated by tournament experts.

  • Sayat Ilyasov (65 kg) won by technical knockout in the second round against Mongolian Damdindorg Pusevdorj, showing great preparation and determination.

  • Muhammadazizbek Ismoilov beat Japan’s Moeto Kawamura 5:0 in the 70 kg category and advanced to the finals. He made almost no mistakes.

  • Shavkatjon Boltayev completely dominated the host Thananachai Phoemsap in the semifinal — 5:0. This result reflects his strong desire for future championship.

  • Rahmatullo Boymatov (80 kg) confidently beat China’s Haoran Du 5:0 and booked his spot in the final.

  • In the 85 kg category, Abdullaziz Abdurakhmonov knocked out South Korea’s Changyeong Nam in the second round and advanced to the final.

  • Shakhzod Polvonov defeated India’s Mayur 4:1 and moved to the final, demonstrating strong mental readiness.

  • Halimjon Mamasoliyev (+90 kg) also knocked out South Korea’s Yoseung Shin in the second round, becoming a bright finalist.

  • Among the girls: Robiyakhon Bakhtiyorova (–48 kg) beat India’s Bhavna Sharma 4:1, while Gulsevar Ganieva (–51 kg) beat Taiwan’s Yu-Shan Liu 3:2.

  • Uzukjamol Yunusova (–54 kg) won over Vietnam’s Thi To Nhu Tran — 5:0. Khumorabonu Mamajonova (–57 kg) defeated China’s Miqi Wang — 5:0 and reached the final.

  • Odina Ismoilova (–60 kg) lost 0:5 to India’s Priya and took bronze. Mohira Akhmedova (–65 kg) and Diyorakhon Abdumannobova (+80 kg) also lost in semifinals, finishing with bronze medals.

  • Oysha Toirova (–70 kg) beat Hong Kong’s Pei Ting Lo by technical knockout in round two — and advanced to the final.

According to the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation, these successful results further raise the international status of our national boxing. The final day is expected to be a real boxing celebration for passionate fans.
