As you know, from July 30 to August 12, the beautiful and multicultural capital of Thailand — Bangkok — is hosting the prestigious Asian Championship for boxers under 22 years old, as well as for youth categories. This major tournament has brought together the strongest and most promising young boxers from across our continent to fight for the title of champion.
The competition is now entering its most exciting and decisive stage. Today marks the start of the final bouts, where the fate of the medals will be decided. On the first final day, teams in the youth category (U-19) will battle for gold medals.
For our national team, this stage is a matter of prestige and honor. This is because as many as 10 of our boxers have reached the final. This was officially announced by the Uzbekistan Boxing Federation.
In the finals, the honor of our country will be defended by:
-60 kg: Sevara Mamatova — Vini (India);
-70 kg: Raykhona Kurbonboeva — Abudureyimu Alimire (China);
+80 kg: Sobirakhon Shakhobiddinova — Parchi Tokas (India);
-48 kg: Maftuna Musurmonova — Chiranan Dapphonhan (Thailand);
-65 kg: Jahongir Zayniddinov — Mausam Suhag (India);
-70 kg: Abduaziz Jurakulov — Ashirbay Bibaris (Kazakhstan);
-75 kg: Mukhammadjon Yakubboev — Rahul Kundu (India);
-80 kg: Norbek Abdullaev — Timur Tayibekov (Kazakhstan);
-85 kg: Samir Sobirov — Nursultan Kistaubay (Kazakhstan);
+90 kg: Islam Salikhov — Orkhan Aghayev (United Arab Emirates).
Each of these athletes possesses unique character, determination, and skill. For them, this final is not only a personal victory but also an opportunity to raise the national flag high. Among the opponents are representatives from countries such as India, China, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and the UAE, all of which have strong boxing traditions.
The final matches will undoubtedly be a major event not only for the athletes but also for the fans. It is during these days that the brightest names and most promising talents of Asian boxing will face each other in the ring.
