After the 20th round Super League match «Nasaf» – «Surkhan» (2:1), the head coach of the Qarshi team, Ruzikul Berdiev, shared his thoughts at the press conference. According to him, the team showed their desire to win and secured three important points.
«In the second half we showed hunger for victory»
— In the first half both teams played cautiously, since no one wanted to concede. In the second half, however, we demonstrated our intention to win through attacking play. Our decision to bring on Dragan Ceran was also the right one, and it greatly helped us achieve the victory, — said Berdiev.
Elite Champions League and league goals
— You saw the draw — we got strong opponents. Our task is to perform decently in this tournament and, if possible, advance to the next stages. In the league, our main goal is to defend the title. This season is very tough, because 5–6 teams are competing for the championship. Even matches against so-called ordinary teams are not easy. Therefore, we must keep moving forward without being distracted from our goal.
«The competition will last until the final rounds»
— It is difficult to name one main rival. The fight for the championship will continue until the last rounds, — said the coach.
«Surkhan is always a fighting team»
— «Surkhan» is a young and energetic team. They always try to show good football and cause problems for any opponent. Even though leaders have left, they have not lost their style. That is why many experts respect «Surkhan». They tend to keep possession more, while we tried to press them at the right moments. Perhaps today they were afraid of Nasaf’s potential and could not show their own football. But after 2:0 they began to play their style and created chances, — concluded Berdiev.
According to him, Nasaf will not deviate from its goals and will continue to strive for high results in the upcoming matches.
