In the English city of Liverpool, the ongoing 2025 World Boxing Championship witnessed another unforgettable day. On September 12, during the quarterfinal and semifinal bouts, our athletes achieved results that delighted the fans.
Among men, five Uzbek masters of the leather glove advanced to the final. Among them are Abdumalik Kholokov, Fazliddin Erkinboev, Turabek Khabibullaev, and Jahongir Zakirov. In addition, Akmaljon Isroilov reached the semifinal. However, Shodiyor Meliquziev, under the pressure of a strong opponent, missed his chance in the quarterfinal.
In the women’s contests, our girls also showed worthy results. Navbahor Hamidova, after her victorious fight, advanced to the final and brought the first major ticket for our national team. Meanwhile, Sabina Bobokulova convincingly defeated the Italian representative in the quarterfinal and advanced to the semifinal.
