On December 6, 2024, during the "IBA Champions Night 13" tournament, renowned Uzbek boxer Shahobiddin Zoirov faced Venezuelan boxer Yoel Finol in the ring. Despite being more active than his opponent in this clash, the judges awarded the victory to the Venezuelan representative.
This decision caused widespread controversy, prompting IBA President Umar Kremlyov to personally address the matter.
In the second bout during the "IBA Champions Night," Zoirov was once again defeated by Yoel Finol on points. Although Zoirov showed more activity in the ring, the judges declared the Venezuelan athlete the winner.
Additionally, this result once again challenged trust in the judging process, despite Zoirov’s impressive performances in other matches. Boxing fans are criticizing this as an incorrect decision.
