In a match as part of Round 16 of the Turkish Super Lig, "Istanbul Başakşehir" secured a crucial three points in an away encounter against "Samsunspor." The match ended with a 2–0 victory in favor of the visitors.
During the first half, both teams displayed cautious play. Despite attempts, neither side managed to score, and they headed to half-time with a goalless draw. However, the tempo of the game increased in the second half, leading to a change in the outcome.
In the 66th minute, the captain of Uzbekistan’s national team, Eldor Shomurodov, showcased his experience and awareness. Taking advantage of the opponent’s defensive error, the forward opened the scoring and gave his team the lead. This goal boosted the confidence of "Başakşehir."
Soon after, in the 83rd minute, Bertug Yıldırım scored, assisted by an accurate pass from Eldor. This brought the score to 2–0, effectively sealing the game.
Another Uzbek player, Abbosbek Fayzullayev, was substituted off in the 67th minute. Shomurodov, having completed his task, was replaced in the 87th minute and was warmly applauded by the fans.
Following this victory, "Istanbul Başakşehir" increased their points tally to 20 and moved up to 8th place in the league standings. Eldor Shomurodov’s leadership and decisive plays once again proved his status as one of the key players in the team.
