Exactly three years ago, on December 18, 2022, the final of the FIFA World Cup took place. In the decisive match held in Qatar, the national teams of France and Argentina faced each other.
The French squad took to the field with the intention of winning their second consecutive World Cup. By the end of the first half, Argentina was leading 2–0, with goals scored by Lionel Messi and Angel Di Maria.
However, towards the end of the second half, France staged a comeback — in the 80th and 81st minutes, Kylian Mbappe scored two consecutive goals to level the score. In extra time, both teams exchanged goals: Messi scored for Argentina, while Mbappe equalized once again, sending the game to a penalty shootout.
In the penalty shootout, luck was on Argentina's side. The "Albiceleste" secured their third World Cup title in history and their first since 1986.
