Former Fenerbahce player accuses Mourinho of breaking his promise

Former Fenerbahce midfielder Lincoln has made a harsh statement about Jose Mourinho, who coached the club in the 2024–2025 season. This was reported by euro-football.ru reports .
According to the Brazilian player, the Portuguese coach failed to keep a promise he had made to him, which he took as a sign of disrespect. Lincoln recalled that before leaving on loan to Hull City, he spoke with Mourinho, who said he was expecting him at the summer camp in Portugal.
The player said he expected to be called up for the camp after the season ended, but was unable to contact Mourinho directly. When Lincoln tried to reach the coach through an interpreter, Mourinho referred him to the sporting director. While the team were holding camp in Portugal, Lincoln, despite being at home in Portugal as well, was sent to Istanbul and instructed to train separately.
Lincoln said he was treated unfairly and disrespectfully during this process. He noted that in many matches he tried to help the club even in an unfamiliar position, and after a serious injury he expected support, but did not feel it.
In an interview with Fanatik, Lincoln said: “He has achieved a lot, and no one disputes that. But for me, in life, character matters more than trophies.”
Jose Mourinho is currently in charge of Benfica.
