"Metallurg" return to the Pro League: club operations revived in Bekobod

The long-awaited news for Bekobod football has been officially confirmed: Metallurg Football Club has resumed operations. The team that halted its activities in 2024 is returning to the big stage two years later — to Pro League matches. This update delighted not only Bekobod fans, but also everyone who values the name “Metallurg” in Uzbek football.

A special event was held to mark the comeback. UFA First Vice President Ravshan Irmatov attended and shared his sincere wishes for the team. He emphasized that it is important for Metallurg to reclaim its place, restore its former standing, and develop talented players for the national team.

“I wish Metallurg success in restoring its former position and preparing talented players for the national team,” Irmatov said.

It’s not only a comeback — a new chapter is beginning as well. Key appointments have been made in the club’s management: Ulugbek Mirzayev has been named CEO, while Ilhom Mo‘minjonov has been entrusted with the head coach position.

In short, Metallurg’s revival means a sporting boost for Bekobod, hope for supporters, and another competitor for Uzbek football. Now the most intriguing part lies ahead: how the team will perform in the Pro League, how quickly it will get into shape, and whether it can push back toward the top — the pitch will provide the answers.
