Valencia Defeats Espanyol After 90th Minute Penalty

In the 21st round of La Liga, Valencia hosted Espanyol at Mestalla. Although the hosts did not create many chances in attack, they managed to secure three points in the final minutes. This is reported by euro-football.rureports.
The score was opened in the 15th minute: Lucas Beltran found Hugo Duro in the penalty area, and the forward scored from close range to put Valencia ahead. At the start of the second half, Espanyol responded — in the 54th minute, after Kike Garcia's shot was saved by the goalkeeper, Ramon Terrats placed the ball into the net on the rebound (1:1).
Five minutes later, a pass from Arnaut Danjuma was headed in by Eray Cömert, putting the hosts ahead again — 2:1. However, in the 79th minute, Valencia was not fortunate: in an episode following a corner, José Copete directed the ball into his own net, equalizing the score — 2:2.
The fate of the match was decided by a penalty awarded in the 90th minute. The 11-meter penalty earned by Beltran was coolly converted by Largie Ramazani — 3:2.
After the victory, Valencia remains in 13th place in the league standings. Espanyol is in 5th place but has only collected one point in the last four rounds.
